The best futures prop firms in 2026 combine competitive pricing, fair drawdown rules, fast payouts, and a proven track record of paying traders. We've tested and researched every major futures firm to rank the top 10 based on these criteria.

Futures prop trading has exploded in popularity, with search interest growing over 5,500% since 2020. The market now offers more options than ever, which makes choosing the right firm both easier and harder. Two firms shut down in the past year (OspreyFX and XpertFunding), making due diligence more important than ever.

How We Chose These Firms

Our ranking weighs five factors equally:

  1. Payout reliability: Does the firm consistently pay traders on time? We check Trustpilot reviews, community reports, and verified payout totals.
  2. Drawdown fairness: Are the rules designed to test skill or trap traders? EOD trailing is more forgiving than real-time trailing.
  3. Total cost: Monthly fees plus activation fees plus data fees. The headline price rarely tells the full story.
  4. Track record: How long has the firm operated? How much has it paid out? We give extra weight to firms with 3+ years of operation.
  5. Rule transparency: Are the terms clear and consistent? Frequent rule changes without clear communication lose points.

We excluded firms that have shut down (like OspreyFX in July 2025 and XpertFunding in early 2026) and firms with unresolved payout controversies.

#1. My Funded Futures: Best for Fast Payouts

My Funded Futures earns the top spot for its combination of near-instant payouts, zero activation fees, and a clean rule structure. Founded in late 2023 by Matthew Leech, it's the newest firm in our top 3 but has earned its position on merit.

Key features:

  • 100% of first $10,000 in profits (all traders, not just legacy)
  • Near-instant payout processing, often within minutes
  • No activation fees (eliminated July 2025)
  • EOD trailing drawdown on Core and Pro plans
  • Six supported platforms including TradingView
  • 4.9/5 Trustpilot from 11,000+ reviews

Pricing: Core plan from $77/month, Rapid from $129/month, Pro from $229/month. All subscription-based with no activation fees.

Our take: The payout speed alone sets MFFU apart. When other firms take days, MFFU takes minutes. The 100% of first $10K is a deal that Topstep now only offers to legacy traders. The $100K cumulative payout cap per account is the main limitation, but for the typical funded trader, that cap won't be an issue in the first year or two. The firm's youth (~2 years) is the only real concern.

#2. Topstep: Best for Trust & Education

Topstep is the longest-running futures prop firm, operating from Chicago since 2012. Fourteen years of continuous operation makes it the safest bet in futures prop trading. Period.

Key features:

  • 90/10 profit split for new traders (100% first $10K for legacy)
  • Dual evaluation paths (Standard and Consistency) since February 2026
  • Best educational ecosystem in futures, with daily coaching
  • EOD trailing drawdown
  • 4.4/5 Trustpilot

Pricing: Trading Combine from $49/month. Standard Path adds $129 activation fee. Consistency Path has no activation fee but higher monthly cost.

Our take: If trust is your top priority, Topstep wins every time. The January 2026 payout changes (removing 100% first $10K for new traders) and the addition of dual evaluation paths added complexity. But the core reliability is unchanged. No other futures firm has 14 years of continuous, controversy-free operation. The education alone is worth the subscription for newer traders learning to trade futures.

#3. Alpha Futures: Best One-Step Evaluation

Alpha Futures has quickly earned its place with a 4.9/5 Trustpilot rating from 2,500+ reviews, 90% profit split from day one, and a clean one-step evaluation.

Key features:

  • 90% profit split from day one (Advanced/Zero plans)
  • EOD trailing drawdown
  • One-step evaluation, no multi-phase grind
  • Payouts within 48 hours (some report 6-18 hours)
  • Zero plan eliminates activation fee entirely
  • Backed by Alpha Capital Group

Pricing: Standard from $79/month, Advanced $149/month, Zero $199/month. Subscription model.

Our take: The best newer firm in futures. The subscription model rewards fast evaluators but punishes slow ones. If you can pass in 1-2 months, the value is excellent. The Alpha Capital Group backing provides institutional credibility beyond what most newer firms can claim.

#4. Tradeify: Best One-Time Pricing

Tradeify eliminates the subscription model entirely with one-time pricing and even offers free evaluation accounts.

Key features:

  • Free Growth evaluation accounts (genuinely free, not a trial)
  • One-time pricing on Select plans (no monthly fees)
  • $0 activation fee on Select plans
  • EOD drawdown calculation
  • $125M+ in documented payouts

Pricing: Free (Growth), $103-$215 one-time (Select).

Our take: If monthly subscription billing frustrates you, Tradeify solves that problem. The free Growth accounts are unique in the industry and let you test your strategy without risking any money. The Select plans' one-time pricing means you know your exact total cost upfront.

#5. Apex Trader Funding: Best Budget Entry

Apex Trader Funding runs 80-90% off sales almost every week, making it the cheapest way to start futures prop trading.

Key features:

  • Evaluation prices as low as $15-$29 during frequent sales
  • One-day evaluation (no minimum trading days since March 2026)
  • Free NinjaTrader license included
  • 100% of approved payout rewards
  • Up to 20 simultaneous accounts
  • $721M+ in reported payouts

Pricing: Regular from $147, but sale prices of $15-$69 are the norm. One-time payment.

Our take: The pricing is unbeatable during sales, and the 20-account capability is unique. But the real-time trailing drawdown (not EOD) is the strictest in our top 10. One good intraday move followed by a pullback can wipe your account. If you can manage that drawdown, Apex is extraordinary value. If trailing drawdowns frustrate you, look at firms #1-#4 on this list.

#6. Bulenox: Best Platform Variety

Bulenox supports 18+ trading platforms, more than any other futures firm.

Key features:

  • 18+ compatible platforms
  • 42 futures instruments across 4 exchanges
  • Weekly payouts
  • 90% split (100% of first $10K)
  • 40% consistency rule

Pricing: Monthly from $115-$535.

Our take: If your trading platform isn't supported elsewhere, Bulenox probably has it. The 42-instrument coverage across four exchanges is also the widest. The 40% consistency rule is the main trade-off, limiting how much a single day can contribute to your total profit.

#7. Earn2Trade: Best Education Focus

Earn2Trade combines evaluation with structured education through its Trader Career Path (TCP).

Key features:

  • Structured course curriculum alongside evaluation
  • Trader Career Path program
  • EOD trailing drawdown
  • 80% profit split

Pricing: TCP from $150/month, Gauntlet Mini from $170/month. Watch for $140-$156/month data fees on live accounts.

Our take: The education is structured and detailed, though less interactive than Topstep's live coaching. The data fees on live accounts ($140-$156/month per exchange) significantly increase ongoing costs and should be factored into your total cost calculation.

#8. Leeloo Trading: Cheapest Entry Point

Leeloo Trading offers the lowest monthly fee in futures at $26, with 100% of first $12,500 profits.

Key features:

  • $26/month starting price
  • 100% of first $12,500 in profits
  • 90% split after first payout

Pricing: From $26/month. But 30-day first payout wait and monthly-only payouts are the trade-offs.

Our take: The cheapest ongoing subscription in futures. The $12,500 first-profit deal beats MFFU's $10K. But the monthly-only payout schedule and 30-day wait for the first payout make cash flow slower than competitors.

#9. OneUp Trader: Best Free Data

OneUp Trader includes free real-time data on all futures markets, saving $140+/month.

Key features:

  • Free real-time data feeds on all CME markets
  • 90% split (100% first $10K)
  • 3.5% trailing drawdown

Pricing: From $125/month (50% upfront). 15-day minimum evaluation.

Our take: The free data feeds are a real cost saving, especially when compared to firms like Earn2Trade that charge $140-$156/month for live data. The 15-day minimum evaluation and 3.5% trailing drawdown are the trade-offs.

#10. Lucid Trading: Fastest Raw Payout Speed

Lucid Trading averages 15-minute payout processing.

Key features:

  • 15-minute average payout processing
  • EOD trailing drawdown
  • Escrow-based payout system

Pricing: From $70 with promo codes, plus $50 activation fee.

Our take: The payout speed rivals MFFU. The escrow-based system is unique but adds a layer of complexity. A smaller, newer firm with less track record than the top 5.

What to Look for in a Futures Prop Firm

Drawdown type matters most. This is the single most important factor. End-of-day trailing drawdown is more forgiving than real-time trailing. Your intraday equity peaks don't count against you until market close. Firms using real-time trailing (like Apex) punish you immediately for strong intraday moves. If you're not sure which type suits you, start with an EOD firm.

Total cost, not just monthly fee. Factor in activation fees ($0-$175), data fees ($0-$156/month), reset fees ($50-$155), and platform fees. The cheapest monthly subscription might not be the cheapest total cost. A $49/month firm with $129 activation costs $178 in the first month. A $77/month firm with $0 activation costs $77. Do the full maths.

Payout caps and schedules. Some firms cap initial payouts at $1,000-$3,500 regardless of profits. Others process daily or weekly with no caps. If you're trading full-time and need regular income, payout frequency and caps matter more than the headline profit split.

Consistency rules. A 20-50% consistency rule means no single day can represent more than that percentage of your total profit. If you're a trader who has occasional big days separated by flat periods, strict consistency rules will hurt you. If you earn steady daily profits, consistency rules won't be a problem.

Track record. Two futures prop firms shut down in the past year. Firm age is a real risk factor. All else being equal, prefer firms with 3+ years of operation. That said, newer firms like MFFU and Alpha Futures have earned strong reputations quickly, so age alone isn't disqualifying.

CFD Traders: Wrong Page

If you trade forex, indices, or CFDs rather than futures, you're in the wrong place. See our best CFD prop firms ranking. For a comparison of the two markets, read our CFD vs futures prop firms guide.

FAQ

What is the best futures prop firm in 2026?

My Funded Futures ranks first for its combination of fast payouts, no activation fees, and fair EOD drawdown rules. Topstep is the safest choice for trust and education.

What's the cheapest futures prop firm?

Apex Trader Funding during sales ($15-$29) or Leeloo Trading at $26/month for ongoing subscriptions. Tradeify offers free Growth evaluations.

What's the difference between EOD and real-time trailing drawdown?

EOD trailing drawdown only updates at market close based on your highest end-of-day balance. Real-time trailing updates constantly as your equity changes during the day. EOD is more forgiving for traders with volatile intraday P&L.

Can I trade futures prop firms from the US?

Yes. All firms in our top 10 accept US-based traders. Futures are fully accessible to US traders, unlike CFDs which face Dodd-Frank restrictions.

How much can I make with a futures prop firm?

That depends on your trading skill, account size, profit split, and payout caps. Top funded traders report earning $5,000-$20,000+ per month, but most traders don't pass the evaluation on their first attempt.

Do I need previous trading experience?

While no firm requires a specific credential, the evaluation process effectively tests your ability. Complete beginners should learn to trade profitably on a demo account before paying for evaluations. Topstep's education and Tradeify's free accounts are good starting points.

Which firm has the fastest payouts?

My Funded Futures processes payouts in minutes. Lucid Trading averages 15 minutes. Most other firms take 1-3 business days.
